Join me at Tacos Luis for a fiesta of flavor and an economical treat!

Tacos Luis will get a simple but raving post, because that is what Tacos Luis is: simple and extraordinary.

This is not your pop-up, wanna be Mexican but serves pastrami, Casa-Hadassah, place in hometown, USA. Noooooooo. Tacos Luis is authentic tacos, Mexican style. Limited menu, focused dishes and extreme tastes and flavors. Best part, this can tide you over or be a full meal and neither will dip into your savings.

The workers meal is the best plan around. For 48 Shekel, maybe $12, you get three tacos of your choosing and a drink.

I had the assado, the carnitas and the shawarma taco.

The assado was grilled and spiced nicely, and like at Subway, I could choose my own toppings. The corn tortilla are made on premises, but they taste like they are from Juarez! The carnitas were yummy. Just scrumptious. But, surprisingly, my favorite was the shawarama. Instead of fat drizzling down, Tacos Luis had pineapple. The spices for the shawarma were blended to perfection. The explosion of guacamole, slaw, lime, onion and cilantro with the meat was beyond description.

Taco Luis was mui - deliciouso! A fiesta of flavors that I look forward to trying again soon.
