Broaster Chicken

If the Colonel’s kid married Kenny Rogers kid, they would have created Broasters!

Broasters is a unique name for a simple and tasty concept. They serve fried chicken. Not schnitzel! Fried chicken. Southern style. And, it is VERY good! Broasters offers multiple locations throughout Israel and are worth the stop where’re you might find yourself!

To me, what is even more interesting than the food is the business model. There are only three options of food at Broasters: drumsticks (which they call broasters), chicken tenders, (which they call nuggets), and wings. They make a regular version of all three and a spicy version as well. Besides drinks and fries, that is it! That allows them to stick to their craft and not get messed up in a thick menu.

The brilliance with this model is every restaurant in Israel is looking for skinless chicken breasts and thighs. When at the butchery, what is cut out are the legs and wings, and tenders of the chicken. This allows Broasters to capture that market for a reduce price, I am sure, and offer it with their own seasons and spices for a special experience.

One other interesting ‘nugget’ here is that they offer a potato ball as a side dish. You and I might think it is a tater tot, and while maybe a distant cousin, this is actually a mashed potato put into a ball and deep fried. It was a first for me. Perhaps a last too, but not terrible.

All in all, I cannot stop boasting about Broasters. Dare I say, it was finger licking good?!
