On the water dining that has great meats and exciting entertainment!

The fact that there is no menu or website hyperlink should tell you what you need to know about Decks. It is a simple restaurant that could use a good squeegee and the bathrooms could benefit from some Lysol. The water views of the Galilee (Kinneret) are great, but the humidity during summer is painful. During the winter, a nice fireworks display enlivens the meal. But, even with those critiques, Decks is always a solid and surprisingly good meal.

Decks has been around since the days of Trumpledor. This restaurant mixes all types of cuisines - and I do not mean fusion. I mean some Chinese, some Mediterranean and some Western dishes, depending on what they enjoy making and who is working in the cucina.

Some of my favorites at Decks include the Coconut soup. Bear in mind that I loathe coconuts, but this soup is AMAZE balls. It has Vietnamese flavors and influence. The grilled meats are exceptional. Since most of the meats come from the Golan, a short ride away, the meat tastes as fresh as bison does in Wyoming.

The flavors are very good, but what I always marvel about at Decks is the portion size. Tiberias is an old-school Sephardic town and the portions are made for the working class Sepahard. HUGE!

When eating at Decks with a group, two more exciting things are sure to delight: An Israeli version of a Viennese table. By Israeli version, what I mean is a large plank of particle-board-wood filled with desserts that two foreign workers carry into the room for all to enjoy. Second, groups can enjoy the in-house karaoke, which kicks the drinking and dining up one notch.

Decks will not win the best housekeeping award, but it will wow you with taste and experience. DO not miss this meat restaurant when up north!
