More Gaza, less Berlin!

Gaza to Berlin is a restaurant and takeout dive with a very misleading name. The genesis of the name is its original location was on the corner of Azza Street and Harav Berlin. That makes enough sense. That is, until you move your location to Azza and Radak Streets and the old name has little meaning.

I was expecting Ashkenazi and Sephardi specialties or some unique east meets west decor. This place has neither. While you can dine in, their mainstay - before and after Corona- is takeout.

The food is almost all Mizrachi with ZERO Ashkenazi eats. That is fine, even with Berlin in the name. But there was nothing in this eatery that blew my hair back or made my taste buds dance. It was fine. Just fine. The Hamusta Kubbeh soup was better than fine, but far from the best I have enjoyed. The location is blah also. Nothing super clean or comfortable that invites you in or food that outweighs the experience.

This is much more Gaza and much less Berlin. Neither the real Gaza or this restaurant are places I am looking to visit anytime soon.
