Eddie Money had two tickets to Paradise. If he was headed to the cafe in Tel Aviv bearing the same name, I hope, for his sake, his flight was diverted.

Eddie Money had two tickets to Paradise.

If he was headed to the cafe in Tel Aviv, I hope, for his sake, his flight was diverted.

Paradiso is in the outdoor section of the vibrant Sarona Market. Near Azrieli Towers and across from the Kiriya (Israeli Pentagon) sits a hybrid  indoor-outdoor market space for shopping, eating and meeting that is the envy of any social city. Clean, fun and cool, Sarona offers all types of things to all types of people. One thing that is lacking are certified Kosher establishments. Which is why I was excited to try Paradiso at Sarona.

I wish it lost its supervision.

This cafe has all the dairy classic menu offerings. Lasagna, pizza, pasta and salads, and the obligatory egg breakfasts with small sides.

The decor was weak. The service was the worst of what Israel has to offer. They were literally doing us a favor by taking our order and the food came out slowly, missing many parts and tasted ok, at best.

Further, countless things were missing from the menu. We were there for Friday brunch. Not a quiet time and when things should be in stock.

The pizza, arancini, tuna and Caesar salad, along with the omelette that arrived scrambled all were forgettable.

This is not a place I will visit again and a painful waste of real estate in such a coveted area. Sarona, you deserve better than this false paradise.
