Medita can be found on Derech Bet Lechem a short hop from the Haas promenade and the new American Embassy. Parking is a challenge and I am not sure if it is worth the hunt.
Do not get me wrong. The food at Medita was good. Perhaps better than good. But this restaurant was a familiar song in a off the beaten location. Perhaps the Mehhhh in Medita should be accentuated?!
A decade ago, sitting down to beef carpaccio smothered in olive oil would have rang a bell for me. So would a seasoned eggplant and a spicy hummus. There was no novelty and zero X factor. Again, everything tasted fine but in a saturated market one must bring a better tasting food or something very unique to the table. Medita did neither.
A few things worth trying include the Knafeh Fish and the salmon bites. The Pargit and entrecote were good, but nothing special. Maybe a few new bars and a spicy and funky chorus can offer this familiar tune some tantalizing rhythms.
