A Taste of Paris off of Azza

Covered by a simple blue awning shading the outdoor portion of this indoor/outdoor cafe in the heart of Rechavya is Mistabra.

This dairy spot is infused and influenced by the best of France, so much so that even the owners are French!

Each breakfast meal comes with only baguette bread, the croissants and chocolate pastries are flaky and authentic. The breakfast was struggling a bit to find its identity: Israel or Paris. Still, it was tasty. Even the immaculate bathroom decor was Parisian throughout.

Breakfast is their busiest time and since the Corona outbreak, they close early at 8 PM, but hope to go back to 11 PM closing when more people eat out and gather freely, which will also allow them to focus more on dinner menus and less eggs and coffees.

The two best parts of this place, beyond the excellent service, was A) the eclectic scene it welcomed. Students gathered and were studying and while the elderly were busy people watching, Haredi women and tattooed men all sat together as if it were sampling small taste of the world to come. B) Second, there was equal indoor and outdoor space, and both offered a small place to just wander with your thoughts and be shielded from the noise and hustle of the fast paced Jerusalem world that surrounded.

Oui, Oui - I would enjoy Mistabra again!
