Top tier choice for salads and skewers in Jersualem!
If you are a fan of the skewer and do not have the means or time to get to Grill 443 in Modiin, than Stekiot Zidkiyahu is for you. Located in Jerusalem’s industrial district of Talpiot, this establishment will host cabbies and technicians for lunch and families and camp directors for dinner.
This place is family friendly, loaded with fantastic salads and appetizers that will overwhelm the novice eater, and hot pita that is made on premises. Skewers come in many varieties, but I always choose one entrecôte and one chicken. The pargit are made to perfection.
By the time the main meal arrives, you are usually so full from salads that the protein seems over the top. But, I guess that is how many stay so slender in this country. Better to fill up on a variety of salads and dips before the main course!
This was a place for only Israelis for a long time, than the secret spread. Today, you will find Americans that fancy knowing “inside Israel” at Zidkiyahu and those that are budget conscious. It is a perfect place to meet with family when in Israel and the options for all eaters of all ages is a serious advantage. Especially for large groups.
Dessert leaves what to be desired but, no one is going to Zidkiyahu for dessert. It is a sure-bet place for a delicious meal!
Post Script: I went to Zidkiyahu for dinner 7/2020 and they Madge all types of physical improvements to the location. The menu is the same, prices rose a tad, but still worth every shekel. Great for birthdays and try the new deep fried cauliflower! Yum!!
