A romantic restaurant in Herziliya overlooking the marina. Good food and great ambience!

Bistro 56, located on the terrace of the Herziliya Harbor, overlooking the yacht club and the boardwalk, Bistro 56 is as yummy an option for a serious meal as it offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, especially for sunset. In the upscale Herziliya mall, and underneath the Ritz Carlton Hotel, this eatery will dazzle you with dishes and views that keep the 5 star area honest and worthy.

The décor is simple. Nothing over the top, with all of the focus on the menu and its presentation. So, lets begin with the starters: the meat stuffed portobello is their trademark starter. It is excellent. The wings are messy but good. Not great, but very good. The eggplant surprise is large enough for three people to share and has a deeply Moroccan tone to it. You will love it.

For main course, get the meat and do not pass go. The lamb chops are grilled and spiced magnificently. They are served on the bone, you will enjoy every bite. The Entrecôte is good, but go whole-hog (sorry) and get the prime rib, something you rarely find outside of 5-star hotel Shabbat lunch. The best part of the Sloppy Joe Burger is the name and how it will look more than taste. It is unwieldy and not worth it. Trust me. The beef is fantastic so do not worry.

Skip dessert and head downstairs to the Golda for the pareve selections. You will thank me later.

While I rarely recommend a wine pairing, here I suggest the Blue Nun, Gewurztaminer. No, not because it is award winning, rather it is worth it to see Nuns on a label of wine with the name of Christian women, stamped with a kosher symbol by the local rabbinate. Make a l’chaim to interfaith relations!

See you at sunset at Bistro 56!
