On the corner of Keren HaYesod and Ehad Ha’am, camouflaged with flora and foliage is Vanilla Bean Cafe.

The space can barely hold more than a Minyan. However, if you are part of the lucky 10 that gains entry, you will be in for a fantastic treat.

Vanilla Bean is a classic coffee shop, open for breakfast and lunch and specializing in small bites, sweet delights and all types of hand made, non carbonated caffeinated drinks.

We were greeted by Shmuel and his daughter who tended to our needs with a smile, a smokers laugh and a dash of Sabra attitude.

My wife and I stopped in one morning and had the most delectable tuna sandwich. Prepared on a poppy baguette with dill infused albacore. It hit the spot. We washed it down with amazing cappuccinos and espressos. We had a hard time choosing which sweet thing to enjoy. The carrot cake was moist and perfection. The chocolate cake was rich and not too sweet.

Simple and delicious is how I would categorize this place to meet a friend and enjoy something sweet for Shabbat or a random Tuesday morning to catch up on emails or with a pal.
